Methodology - 15 minutes
Preparation:
- Organize the space.
- Select the pictures to give to each group (pictures have to contain a
certain number of details). - Prepare large sheet of papers, one per photo, felt pens.
Implementation
- Welcome the participants.
- Ask for volunteers to write in the journal and eventually take pictures (to be used for reporting).
- Ask them if they take pictures, what is their favorite subject, why they take pictures…
- Ask the participants to tell you where they find pictures and to show you examples using tablets/computers, books.
- Divide the audience into smaller groups.
- Ask them to research on when the first picture was ever produced and how.
- Explain to the children the activity: each group will be given a picture. They will have to write down all that they see on the pictures then write a story.
- Tell them that they will work like detectives.
Do the activity:
- Divide the audience in smaller groups (if possible groups of 3 or 4).
- Give each group a picture (a different picture per group), a big sheet of
paper and pens. - Ask each group to stick the picture at the center of the sheet of paper.
- Ask each group to write down all that they see on the picture and to
connect their description to the detail described with an arrow. - When finished, ask them to write a story using all the details on the
pictures, like a detective. - Then each group will tell its story to the rest of the participants.
- Comments: ask the other group what they think about the story, does the story reflects the picture…
Ending
● Discuss with the children the activity, what they have learned, if they enjoyed
it.
● Ask the two volunteers to write in the journal.
