Implementation

Welcome participants to the game.

Divide them into pairs and provide two pencils, preferably of equal length.

Demonstrate with one of the participants what the activity requires: place one end of the pencil against the tip of the index finger of the first participant’s right hand and the other end against the tip of the index finger of the second participant’s left hand.

To keep the pencil balanced, both participants have to apply slight pressure.

Now give them more challenges; ask them to place the second pencil between the tips of the index fingers of the other free hands. Now ask them to try taking a step to the left or right whilst holding the pencils steadily.

Tracks to continue

Create a race between the participants; the group that drops the pencil returns to the starting point. Put on music. Participants should not talk. They have to move around the room without dropping the pencil. Change the size of the pencil (maybe use long pieces of wood).
